Slowly it becomes ridiculous…..

Question:

…..that the US archers talking about shooting the new 2001 MATHEWS bows, but Mathews is not able to show the bows to the rest of the world. I can not believe, that the web-master of www.mathewsinc.com has no time to update the site because of building bows.  :-(( Mathews promised, that the new models would be online at the end of January. But they forgot to say, which year.  🙁 — Sven

Mathews is too busy repairing all the bows sent back to them, did you know that they made the fortune 500, they don’t care what you think! They just want to sell out last years bows before they put the new ones out on the market its just smart business!

Its a bow made by marketing people rather than archers… There are only two things to know about a Mathews bow–all the Pros are paid to shoot them and they are fast, fast, fast.  If you care about those things, then you want a Mathews. Actually there are three things, Mathews is one of only two companies that broke the two cam patent monopoly. That made its bows more profitable (no licensing fees to pay) and it has since licensed its design to other bow manufacturers.

Really ??? Matt McPherson left McPherson and started Mathews because McPherson (which he owned) "didn’t believe in a single cam" ??! I love the "facts" available on the internet.

Response:

That’s what I was told by one of the Pro Shops that talks directly with Mathews Inc.

And apparently some people operate under the Clinton ideal of ethics: if you don’t have facts to offer in support of what you say, make critical remarks in hopes that people won’t be able to tell the difference.

You are playing Tennis? That was a great backhand!  :-)) — Sven

I would have to agree with you there! Most people are like sheep they just follow they don’t know how to be a leader and they fall right into the hype!

Response:

I’ve noted the same thing in the past–aggressive and deceptive advertising. The pay all the pros to shoot their bows and then advertise how all the pros are shooting their bows.  Not exactly lying, but there is little doubt they are relying on the average Joe’s ignorance of the sponsor process and hoping they infer that the pros *choose* the bow for its superior performance. Can’t argue with the results though, they have come from nothing to be one of the premier manufacturers.  Lying works… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I believe Mathews operates under the Clinton ideal of business. Ba Ba Bush, lets see after 4 years if Bush is still in favor, or will some of the Bush family dealing come out. Clinton did many good things, as well as many stupid things. But he sure was a sweet talker, had to check your pockets and your teeth and see if anything was missing….. As for the bow mfg’s, the number 1 bow being sold, spends also the most to keep telling the archers out there that it is the best. Also hires the top shooters to shoot there products so why can not most of you see why there bows are in the top winners at the shoots ? Hey these same guys and gals could win with any of the good bows that are out there and also not the top of the line bows.

Response:

I agree Bill, Its been shown, done many times, the pro’s go where the money is! right now its the 4 page ad in avery archery mag, But they have already starting to loose ground. Check out the percentages from last year. People are under the miss guidance that they will be better archers if they just shoot this brand bow. The Truth is its not the bow its the Man or women behind it, That put in the time with practice, Learning how to fine tune their own equipment, and have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of archery. And understanding the mental and competitive angles and side of the sport. The truth is you could put any bow in these pro archers hand and they would shoot it equally as well. I have seen it time after time!

Response:

Hey,at least Clinton is still getting hummers.hehe.As for bows, I’ll take my Hoyt anyday. Two cams and all..Both of them.
