60lbs enough, 20-30" draw for 6'2"guy ? Deer hunting.

Question:

Found an Indian bow with 60 lbs with a 20-30"draw for 100 bucks. Seems like a deal. Anyway, would this be adequate for the first few times out? thanks, Byron

I don’t know much about the particular bow (but I haven’t seen or heard anything from Indian archery for years so I don’t know if it could be worth a hundred bucks), but I’m 6′2" and I draw my recurves and longbow 31" and my compound 32". If 30" is max for the bow I think your form will suffer. FWIW. You are on what I consider to be the upper limit for hunting white-tailed deer.  I would be concerned about the draw lenght, but if you have been practicing with the piece, and feel confident that you know your range, and can get the job done with one shot; then yes, I think you’ve gotten a good deal.  Just remember to keep your limitations in mind and honor the animal with a clean kill.                   Happy Hunting                         gary – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –
